Jackson Pearson.
Jackson Pearson.

Jackson Pearson earned his PhD in American History from Texas Christian University in 2024 after earning his BSE in History Secondary Education and MA in History from Jacksonville State University in Jacksonville, Alabama. His research examines the Neutral Ground Agreement and the Louisiana-Texas borderlands during the two decades following the Louisiana Purchase. In particular, his research analyzes the development of borderlands commercial markets and land speculation schemes to demonstrate how local populations attempted to influence and shape border making processes in pursuit of their own individual ambitions and desires. His research has been supported by the American Philosophical Society, Briscoe Center for American History, Louisiana Historical Association, and Texas General Land Office. He is the author of four book chapters pertaining to his research on the Louisiana-Texas borderlands. He is also the co-author of Images and Stories from TCU’s First 100 Years which was published as part of TCU’s Sesquicentennial celebrations. When not engaged in history-related endeavors, Jackson enjoys spending time with his family, watching sporting events (especially football, soccer, and now hockey thanks to the Dallas Stars), enjoying the outdoors, and cooking.
